For those who follow my Facebook page you will know that I have decided to close my online stores (well they actually closed about a month ago). It was initially a very hard decision to make, but it has been the right one in the end.
So why have I decided to stop selling soap? Well mainly the time and energy it was taking up was playing havoc on my health and family life. I had zero energy, was continuously run down, and my children wanted their Mum back. Also, now that I know that I have Charcot Marie Tooth disease (which apart from affecting the nerves in the feet and hands) also causes severe fatigue. So it was time to sit down and get realistic about what I can achieve in a day, and what matters to me most.
In the end it turned out to be no-brainer. I wanted to focus on my health and hang out with my young children and husband. Simple as that. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a massive passion for soapmaking and watching my favourite soapmaker’s on Youtube. I still love sharing recipes and I would love to continue to make soapmaking videos myself. I want to make soap when I feel like it, not because I need to restock a soap. I don’t want it to be all that I think about (in a stressy way). I would also love to focus on my blogs a little more (this one and Positively Thirty).
